Resources for Applying to SLP Graduate School
CSDCAS is the online application designed to reduce paperwork, streamline processing, and facilitate ongoing communication between programs and applicants.
Cal State Apply
Go to CalState Apply to apply to California State Universities (CSUs).
*Note that some CSUs require you to also submit a CSDCAS application.
Check each school for their unique prompts!
Go to EdFind to identify program-specific admission requirements and data on recently admitted students (e.g., GRE scores and GPA)
CSULA has a writing center and career center that assists students with brainstorming, formatting, spelling, and grammatical checks for their personal statements and/or resumes.
Letters of Recommendation
A majority of graduate schools recommend your letters to be written by professors in the COMD/SLP field. Throughout your undergraduate or post-bacc education, get to know your professors! Typically recommenders include their relationship capacity with the student, the student’s strengths, how the student performed in their class/job/volunteer position etc. as related to the graduate school program. *If your recommendation letters are not from such professors, we recommend you to contact the graduate school for clarification or more information.
The interview process may be daunting for many of us. That is why the CSULA NSSLHA Chapter hosts mock interviews every Spring semester. Be on the look out on the events page!
Also, visit the Career Center to enhance your interview skills by setting an appointment with a career advisor.
